This guide walks you through everything: what to expect, how to generate previews, and what happens after you submit.
What Is This?
Your prep link gives you access to a private style preview tool. You can upload a photo of yourself, try out different hairstyles and colors on your actual face, save the ones you like, and send your choices to your stylist before you arrive.
No account needed. No app to download. Just open the link and go.
Step 1: Accept the Consent Notice
The first thing you will see is a short consent notice. It explains that your photo will be used to generate style previews and how your information is handled.
Tap Confirm to accept and unlock the rest of the experience. You will not be able to upload a photo or generate previews until this step is complete.
Step 2: Upload Your Photo
Add a photo of yourself to use as the starting point for your previews.
You have two options:
- Take a photo -- opens your camera so you can capture one right now
- Upload from your phone or computer -- choose an existing photo from your files
Tips for a better result:
- Face the camera directly -- straight on, not at an angle
- Good lighting makes a big difference; natural light or a well-lit room works best
- Avoid hats, sunglasses, or anything covering your hairline
- Keep your hair down if possible so the AI has a clear starting point
The more clearly your face and current hair are visible, the more realistic your previews will look.
Step 3: Choose a Style
Once your photo is uploaded, you can browse style options and choose a direction to try.
You can:
- Browse the built-in style library and pick one that catches your eye
- Choose a hair color to try on your current style
- Describe what you are looking for in your own words if you have something specific in mind

Step 4: Generate Your Previews
Tap Generate New Look to see how the style looks on your photo.
The preview applies the style to your actual face -- not a stock model or a generic example. It usually takes a few seconds to generate.
A few things to know:
- You have a limited number of previews available for this session, set by your stylist
- If a result is not quite what you had in mind, try adjusting the style or describing what you want differently and generate again
- Each new generation uses one of your available previews, so focus on directions you are genuinely curious about
Step 5: Save the Looks You Like
When you see a preview you like, tap Save.
You can save as many looks as you want. After saving, you can add a note to any look -- for example, "I like the color but would want it a bit softer" or "this is exactly what I am thinking." Your stylist will see these notes when they review your session.
Do not worry about saving too many. It is better to give your stylist more to work with than less.
Step 6: Submit When You Are Ready
When you have saved your favorite looks, tap Submit to send everything to your stylist.
Submitting lets your stylist know your prep session is ready for review. They will be able to see all the looks you saved, any notes you added, and your overall style direction before your appointment.
You do not have to get it perfect. The goal is to give your stylist a starting point, not a final answer. They will use your selections as a guide when they see you.
After You Submit
Once you submit, your stylist will review your looks and notes before your appointment.
Your stylist may reply in the prep thread with feedback, a recommendation, or a follow-up question. You will not receive an automatic notification when they reply -- to check for a response, reopen the same link your stylist sent you. Any new messages will be waiting for you there.
It is a good idea to reopen your link a day or two before your appointment to see if your stylist has left any notes.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Your link expires after 30 days. If you try to open it after it has expired, it will no longer work. If that happens before your appointment, let your stylist know and they can send you a new one.
Your previews are AI-generated. They are realistic visual guides, not exact predictions of your final result. Lighting, hair texture, and other factors affect how a style looks in real life. Think of them as a conversation starter, not a guarantee.
Your photo is private. Your photo and previews are only visible to you and your stylist. They are not shared publicly or used for anything outside your consultation.
